WELCOME TO THE NEW SITE!

Welcome everyone to the new Brother’s Keeper website!  This has been a long time coming but I am very excited to finally have it finished.  Before I write anything else, I want to thank everyone involved for their help and support in getting the new site up,  especially the gentile nudging I got to keep moving ahead to get this done so I can get on with creating more comic strips.  I am especially proud of the new archive section. I think it’s now much easier to navigate, so I invite everyone to take a look and feel free to let me know what you think.

Now, as some of you know,  I had taken a short hiatus from the strip to deal with some family issues and I think it actually did me an unexpected favor.  It gave me the opportunity to put down my pen  and take some time to really dig into Ben and Jacob’s character.  I tried very hard to get out of the way and let them talk to me. I think well defined and believable characters are what makes a comic strip fun to read and I hope to bring that to Brother’s Keeper.

Oh, and there are also two new characters I will be introducing in the coming weeks.  Fluffy the family box turtle, based on my own box turtle with the same name, and Sarah, who is the neighbor to the Keepers.  You can get a sneek peek of them in the new “about the strip” section.

The new comics will start on Tuesday, so stop back then and in the meantime, enjoy the site.  It’s now 1:30 AM and I think I best get myself to bed.  This screen is starting to look fuzzy and it’s getting hard to type.

Cheers everyone!

Where is my Comic?

Yea, Its been a long time since I missed a comic but I just don’t have the time this week.  I am involved in a huge project at my full time job.  Since it’s summer, help yourself re-runs in the comic archives!   I am sorry about the laps everyone.

Ben and Jacob will return next week.

Celebrating Earth Day

Happy Earth Day everyone!  I hope everyone gets a chance to go outside for a little bit and enjoy this amazing home we call earth.  If  it’s raining , go outside anyway, for even  the rain has beauty if you stop and look for it.

HAVE FUN!

Happy Groundhog Day

Happy groundhog day everyone!

This is one of the best holidays of the year.  Its one of the last holidays that hasn’t been taken over by greeting card companies and spoon fed back to us in the form of Chinese made trinkets and whatnot.  Simply put,  there is no pressure with groundhogs day so go celebrate it any way you want!  Share a beer with your pet turtle and toast Phil to a long and happy life on Gobbler’s Nob,  or Curl up with a good book and some wonderfully depressing music like the Weepies, Phil says we got six more weeks of winter, so lets make the best of it!

Happy New Year Everyone

During the Christmas season it can be really easy for me to start feeling down about all sorts of things, and this year was no exception. however, something very special happened.  I received Christmas wishes from many friends this year, some new and some I haven’t heard from in a long time! It helped me boost my spirits and enjoy the holidays, so a heart-felt thank you to all of them, it really meant a lot to me.  I truly believe that the measure of a man comes from the lives he touches!

I got lots of art supplies this Christmas (thank you Chuck, Mary and Family) and I am looking forward to trying them out. I hope to keep improving my art and experimenting a bit, mostly with making my drawings more interesting and full.  Any comments are welcome so feel free to express what you like and dislike.

I will always remember 2008 as the year I started Brother’s Keeper.  Its been almost six months  and I am very proud of the progress my comic strip has made in such a short time.  I have a small but loyal following and there is much more fun on the way and I hope everyone will come back often to see what Ben and Jacob are up to.

So happy new year everyone!  and may the new year find you happy healthy, and safe!
